Board Members

Marc Kramer, Co-Founder, AVC Partners
Marc Kramer is a co-founder of 1845 investor AVC Partners, which brings the benefits of patient capital, professional business acumen and market insights to assist business owners accelerate growth and realize greater levels of success. Kramer is a proven investor and business partner with more than 20 years of private equity experience, most recently as a partner at H.I.G. Capital, a leading global private equity investment firm with over $10 billion of capital under management. At H.I.G., he focused on providing capital to middle-market enterprises valued between $200 million to $500 million. Prior to H.I.G., Kramer led the Fenway Partners ($2 billion under management) practice in the transportation/logistics sector where he invested in more than 20 companies. He is a trustee for the French-American School of New York, a director in PeopLease, Sipi Metals, KTS and 1845 Oil Field Services and founder of the Open Road Foundation, a charitable organization, providing victim’s assistance and scholarship opportunities. Kramer earned his MBA from Harvard Business School and his BA from Dartmouth College.
Chris Munro, Co-Founder, AVC Partners
Chris Munro is a co-founder of 1845 investor AVC Partners, which brings the benefits of patient capital, professional business acumen and market insights to assist business owners accelerate growth and realize greater levels of success. He is a proven transformational leader as well as a business and investment partner. As an entrepreneurial public and private CEO, a board member, and investor, Munro has a history of strong execution, governance skills, strategic repositioning, acquisitions/divestments, deep customer relationships and developing high-performing, process-oriented leadership teams. Munro has sourced, led and repositioned public, private and private-equity-owned businesses ranging from $200 million to $6 billion in four continents. He is the Southern Regional Chair for YPO/WPO Deal Network and is currently a director in PeopLease, Sipi Metals, KTS, 1845 Oil Field Services, Surya Carpets and Team One. Munro has a master’s degree in Economics from the University of Glasgow and an Executive MBA from the London Business School.
Greg Gallagher, Chief Investment Officer, Broe
Greg Gallagher is The Broe Group Chief Investment Officer and member of the Broe Executive Team. He is responsible for all acquisitions across Broe’s lines of business, including sourcing all platforms. Gallagher brings an impressive background in corporate transactions, securities, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions and debt/equity financing. Prior to joining Broe, he was Managing Partner of Sync Finance, and President and CEO of Pivot Acquisition Corp. He also spent several years at Wells Fargo Capital Finance as Associate General Counsel, Senior Vice President of Corporate Finance and Managing Director. Gallagher holds a J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law – Chapel Hill, and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Notre Dame.
Pierre Mathieu, Chief Strategy Officer, OmniTRAX, Inc.
Pierre Mathieu serves as the President of OmniTRAX Energy Services and oversees the growth and operations of our expanding proppant logistics business.  For the last 4 years, he served as Chief Strategy Officer for OmniTRAX with responsibility for strategy development, service expansion, new market entry and corporate development. Prior to OmniTRAX, Mathieu spent nine years in various senior executive roles in General Management, Strategy and Corporate Development at Brambles, and held several strategy and manufacturing roles with Le Groupe Michelin in Canada and the US. Mathieu received his Masters of Business Administration degree from INSEAD in France and his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal, Canada.
Hubert Gassner, Chief Financial Officer, OmniTRAX, Inc.
Hubert Gassner is Chief Financial Officer of OmniTRAX and has responsibility for accounting, information technology, procurement and risk management. Most recently, he was CFO of Invensys Controls and Executive Vice President of Invensys PLC, a UK listed company that is a leading global technology provider for a broad range of industrial and commercial customers. Additionally, he has served in numerous financial roles with BEA Systems, Continental AG, and Motorola Inc. Gassner graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting, Auditing and Financial Management and earned a Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting and Auditing from the University of Cape Town.

ShaleTECH Leadership

Robbie Ballard, President, ShaleTECH Transport
Robbie Ballard serves as President and Chief Operating Officer of 1845, which he joined in 2011. He is the senior executive responsible for the Company’s operations. Ballard helped drive the growth and development of 1845’s predecessor company and is a force behind the company’s integration of its logistics personnel and its well site services offering. He was formerly chief operating officer of Thomas Brothers Grass, which Thomas Brothers sold to Budweiser, and as part of his duties oversaw a fleet of 150-power units.
Justin Renfro, President, OmniTRAX Energy Solutions

Justin Renfro was appointed President of OmniTRAX Energy Solutions in October, 2018. He is responsible for the OES business, leading sales and marketing efforts and executing the strategy for the next phase of growth. Renfro previously served as Senior Vice President of Business Development. During his tenure, he has worked to further develop relations and create a stronger understanding of services, assets and technology that OES offers. Renfro’s relationships with senior management in the energy and frac sand industries has bolstered the company’s day-to-day business as well as contract development and management. Since joining OmniTRAX, he has also helped orchestrate a top-of-industry terminal service and QA/QC program and broadened the existing customer base to include eight of the top 10 of blue-chip names in the OFS space. Prior to joining OmniTRAX, Renfro spent eight years as a founding management member of Superior Silica Sands, an EMES Portfolio Company, where he was Vice President of Sales & Marketing and Vice President of Logistics. His responsibilities included overseeing marketing and new business growth, management of sales and logistics for the firm’s multi-national team members, asset growth and development through 11 in-basin terminals. Renfro holds a B.S. from Texas A&M University and has 20 years in sales and marketing in the energy space with 10 of those years directly with frac sand sales and logistics.
